| RENT-A-NERD Los Angeles Corporate events Since 1987, Rent-A-Nerd has provided entertainment that is clean, professional, and a lot of fun. We have a hilarious solution for any corporate need! The Rent-A-Nerd concept is simple: A funny, likeable nerd or nerdette is made to "fit" into any occasion by giving the nerd an identity, a premise, and a lot of inside information about the event, your company, . In a very goofy and cartoon-like way, our nerds can take on any role. Over the years they've posed as new salesmen, executives, government regulators, stress management and marketing consultants, experts, and much more. The possibilities are endless! We have funny and talented nerds and nerdettes for every kind of corporate event: sales and business meetings, training, trade shows and hospitality suites, banquets, open houses, cocktail parties, company picnics, holiday parties, anything.
CUSTOM PERFORMANCES (That's all we do!)
We'll invent a great solution based on what you tell us about your event.
All you need to do is contact us TRAINING PURPOSES
EXAMPLE EVENT: Health Insurance Information Assembly for 150 employees. PROBLEM: Concerned that employees will not understand the new health insurance program and will think that they are losing important benefits. Misinformation can trigger rumors and affect morale. RENT-A-NERD SOLUTION: In the company's auditorium, a chair remains empty, nested deep in the center of the audience. The opening speaker begins to introduce the new health care program. About three or four minutes into the presentation, a wacky nerd or nerdette bursts through the doors, "Oh, man, my bus was late! Please forgive me. Sorry, don't let me interrupt. Please go about your business!" As he says this, he spies the open seat deep in the aisle. Awkwardly he climbs over and stumbles past his fellow seated employees as he makes his way down the narrow aisle to his chair. When he reaches his seat, the nerd immediately raises his hand (as most nerds do) to ask a question, "Excuse me, I was a bit late. Do you think you can summarize what you told everyone before I got here?" The speaker then says, "I guess this would be a good time to summarize, so yes." What is now happening is this nerdy character will help forward the action and ask questions that are inevitably on the minds of the employees. For example, he might ask, "I'm single, so how much will the plan cost me? And Mr. Speaker, please don't obscure the point that, girls, I am single and I'm looking." Now the speaker will explain the costs. Later the nerd might say "Excuse me for interrupting, but, it sounds like you're trying to jip us." Then the speaker says something like, "Well, I'm glad you asked because, at first glance it may not look as good as the previous plan, but it's actually better. Here's why..." So, the wacky nerd serves to forward the action, helps people to retain the information, breaks the tension, and turns a traditionally boring topic into a lot of fun. MINGLING PERFORMANCES
Once again, we interview you about the purpose of the event and information about your company
so that the performer can play the role in a believeble way. Yes, everyone knows it's a joke, but they all want to believe
it's true like the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus.
SANTA CLUTZ
Santa Clutz, the very nerdy nephew of his Uncle Claus, lives at the nerd pole. This dorky old elf is outfitted in the
traditional red Santa suit with some important nerdy modifications: a fur-lined propeller beanie, eyeglasses wrapped with
tape, and a big black belt worn high to his chest and falling just below his "Santa" embossed green pocket protector. Decorated
red kneepads take over where his baggy red trousers end, and clean white stockings drop into bright red sneakers. Unable to
grow a decent beard, toilet paper sticks to Santa Clutz's neck as evidence of an unsuccessful shaving attempt.
Santa Clutz uses inside information and audience participation to create a show that's both fun and personal. Prior to the
performance, Santa gathers information about the company and guests, using this information to single out special people for
his "Naughty List," including them in his "Letters to Santa," and to assemble a choir to sing geeky parodies of nonreligious
Christmas songs. Santa Clutz also holds a "Grab Bag!" Lucky participants close their eyes, reach into Santa's sack, and,
literally, grab a bag! The show is at least 40 minutes long.
It is important for you to know that the performance itself is only half of the product. The other half is the personal
analysis of the event and our creative recommendations. This analysis is inextricably linked to each performance and we
will always require an intimate knowledge of the event in order to create something for you or your customer. Of course,
then, quotes vary from performance to performance and are given on an individual basis.
Since 1987, we have performed every kind of event. It is impossible to describe all of the creative possibilities
that exist. In fact, I suggest that whenever you have an event that you give me a call and ask me how Rent-A-Nerd might
be able to "fit in" (now, that's an oxymoron). Part of the Rent-A-Nerd concept is an analysis of your nerdy needs!
